Delos is located west of Mykonos and belongs to the Cyclades island chain. Delos is recognized as a World Heritage Site with about 24 inhabitants. There are impressive temples in honor of the twin gods Apollo and Artemis, who were born here. Delos was a city of particular importance in the age of antiquity. Not only was it an important religious site, but it was a significant treasury for the Athenian Alliance, and also served as a commercial port. The Cyclades are a cluster of islands located in the heart of the Aegean Seam, they include some of the most famous Greek islands such as Mykonos, Santorini, Milos, and Paros. The capital of the Cyclades is Syros which is located in the northern part of the complex. The Cyclades islands clearly express and epitomize an ideal summer holiday in Greece. They consist of 220 islands, most of which are uninhabited, which create a circle around the sacred island of Delos. In Greek mythology, the Cyclades were created from Poseidon, who transformed the Nymphs into multiple islets. The period 3000-1000 BC was an era where the so-called Cycladic civilization flourished. To this day, many are moved by the timeless art and beauty, that is the very soul of this island group.
