Located in one of the most idyllic gulfs of the Mediterranean and definitely one of the great sailing destinations along the coast of Turkey, the picturesque town of Gocek offers a unique experience for those looking to explore the area on a boat. Though renting a boat and sailing from Gocek is the main draw of this area, there are still plenty of things to see before leaving the port. The town of Gocek was created to serve travelers who sail along the magical coast of southwest Turkey and the nearby Greek Islands. Once, this area was mostly marshes and farmland, with only the little village of Gocek and a small harbor. Today, luxurious boats and yachts of all sizes and flags enter the bay each day. Further up, the old village still retains part of its authentic atmosphere, although gradually being transformed into a summer resort.

Surrounded by green hills and dramatic coastline, Gocek is a marvelous town with perfect villas and lush vegetation, small canals and a beautiful waterfront promenade. Nevertheless, travelers who arrive in Gocek usually come to explore the pristine coves and islands around the bay, known as Gocek Adasi. There are some small beaches around and although most will be pretty crowded, there are enough to find even secluded ones with your sailboat, catamaran or motor yacht. The twelve islands and the coast itself are heavily wooded, offering amazing opportunities for hiking trips and shaded relaxation. From Gocek, travelers can also experience short trips towards interesting sights nearby, including the city of Fethiye and places like Xanthos, Pinara, Telmessos or Patara. Fethiye is a fascinating city, mostly known for its lovely natural harbor, the ancient tombs and amazing beaches.
